Inspired by her grandfather, Seibert Losh, who designed and built the Atlantic City Boardwalk Convention Hall organ in 1929-1932 but was dismissed from the project before it was finished, Josefa Vaughan’s Coloring Sounds: Songlines for Seibert’s Pipes explores the concept of continuation work.
Defined by Vaughan as, “artists’ material or actual art that is surrendered to a second artist for its completion,” this continuation work brought together artists and collaborators from over the years. The project and exhibition was supported by an Individual Artist Commissions grant by the San Francisco Arts Commission.
